Heart of Louisiana Credit Union is proud to present three $1,000 college scholarships to select Credit Union members preparing to graduate from high school next month.
The decision was difficult considering there were eight highly qualified applicants for the scholarships. A judging panel comprised of Senior and Executive Management are proud to honor these three members with a $1,000 college scholarship for the for Fall 2017 college semester:
Noah Dufour is graduating with a 3.36 GPA from Grace Christian School. Noah will be majoring in Criminal Justice this fall at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. During his high school years, Naoh has been a member the varsity Baseball and Basketball teams, as well as the Track Team. He has participated and volunteered for many activities as a youth member of St Francis & Anne Catholic Church, including packing and delivering backpacks for the homeless in Alexandria.
Mackensie Maynor will graduate from Grace Christian School with a 3.86 GPA this spring. She will continue her studies at Louisiana State University and major in Biology. Mackensie has enjoys participating in Soccer, Tennis, Cross Country & Track. She is an active member of the Beta Club, Student Council, Yearbook Staff, and a member of the National Honor Society. Her volunteerism at the Alexandria Zoo, Hope House, and Kingsville Baptist Church speak to the numerous organizations she has supported throughout her high school career.
Olivia Vanderhoeven is graduating with a 4.18 GPA from Tioga High School. She will continue her education at University of Louisiana at Lafayette with her studies focusing in Marketing. At Tioga High School, Olivia is an active member of the Cheerleading and Powerlifting teams. She also serves on Tioga’s Peer Advisement Counsel and the Student Council. Olivia is currently the Senior Class President and holds the 2016 Miss Campus Beauty title. In her spare time, Olivia has volunteered with Salvation Army, Kiwanis Club, the Alexandria Zoo, and the American Cancer Society.
