Equifax, one of the three credit reporting agencies, announced last night that a cyber security incident occurred from mid-May until July 29, 2017. This data breach potentially impacts 143 million U.S. consumers. Unfortunately, the information that is included in the breach includes names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses, and, in some cases, driver's license numbers. Along with this security breach, approximately 209,000 credit card numbers and 182,000 dispute documents with personal identifying information were also accessed.
