Branch Manager
Role
To direct the operations of a small, Credit Union facility, ensuring the branch meets organizational financial, operational, service, and growth plans. Has lending authority.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Directs, develops, motivates, hires and disciplines branch personnel; administers performance evaluations in conjunction with Executives and recommends appropriate personnel actions.
- Monitors branch operating results relative to established objectives and ensures that appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
- Perform routine member service transactions.
- Perform consumer loan officer duties.
- Represents the branch as appropriate in its relationships with members, sponsor organizations(s), suppliers, other financial institutions, and similar groups.
- Maintains communications with main office; prepares and submits standard reports; attends scheduled management meetings.

Performance Measurements
- To maintain a cohesive, highly trained and motivated staff, sufficient to meet needs of members.
- To provide informed, professional and accurate service and support to all members and associates.
- To develop and maintain business partner relationships within the community and area schools. Coordinate branch participation in community activities.
- To ensure all documentation is completed, with a high accuracy rate.
- To meet or exceed the Branch’s goal. Assist branch personnel with achieving all of their individual goals.
- To develop recommendations for cost efficiencies and enhancements to products, pricing and processes by monitoring trends in operations and deposit services.
- To offer insurance products to all new qualified loans. Promote benefit awareness within the branch, both by example and training employees to identify opportunities.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience: Five years to ten years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A two-year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program
Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job.
Other Skills: Must have excellent communication skills.

Teller
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; sells money orders and traveler’s checks to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed.
- Post transactions to member accounts and maintain member records.
- Welcomes members and provides routine information concerning services and directs members to appropriate department for specific information and service.
- Cross-sells credit union services.
- Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input and answering the telephone.
Performance Measurements
- Accept deposits, loan and VISA payments, and enter into teller system.
- Receive payments for mortgage, installment and share secured loans, ensuring that payments equal the amount due and that all late charges, if applicable, are collected.
- Examine checks for endorsements and negotiability.
- Provide members with proper receipts for payments.
- Direct received loan paperwork to other proper departments (title information to Title Clerk; mortgage information to Mortgage Loan Officer….).
- Process member mail and night deposit transactions and assist members with phone transactions.
- Provide member with account status, including current balances and loan pay-offs in person and over the phone.
- Encode or proof daily checks and savings bonds.
- Balance official checks and VISA cash advance machine.
- Process coin and loose change for members.
- File new member accounts and other forms as needed.
- Balance personal teller drawer and checks daily.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience: Up to six months of similar or related experience.
Education: A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
Other Skills: Ten key calculator and computer keyboard by touch. Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names.
